Chuck holding coiled spiral pins, has clamping jaws with Z-shaped, projecting and recessed side formations which inter-engage to overlap gaps otherwise formed between jaws
Chuck holding coiled spiral pins, has clamping jaws with Z-shaped, projecting and recessed side formations which inter-engage to overlap gaps otherwise formed between jaws
Each clamping jaw (11-12) includes a special geometrical shape (21, 24, 25). This shape is located near the next adjacent clamping jaw. Adjacent shapes engage each other, so that they locally overlap the gap which would otherwise be formed between adjacent jaws. The shape is an extension on the side of one jaw, which engages in a recess in the side of the next jaw. In a particular implementation, the extension projects from an upper end of the jaw, whereas the recess is depressed, so that the jaw includes a Z-shape. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding method of chucking.
