The cover (10) has an edge (14) with a circular seal for attachment on a food container to close an inner space between the food container and the cover in a pressure sealed manner. A springy arranged resting projection is provided for section-wise encompassing of the food container edge in the area of the edge. Two resting projection is provided at the cover. A section (16) of the edge with the resting projection is connected with the cover by a flexible plastic material.
