The method for increasing corrosion resistance of nitrocarburized and oxidized surfaces of steel components, comprises degassing the surfaces of the components in a vacuum at 25[deg] C and applying a corrosion protection agent (14) on the component surface for sealing. The components are set out for a period of 20-30 minutes to the vacuum, which is produced with a pressure of 0.01-800 mbar for degassing. The degassing takes place at 50-110[deg] C. Oils, waxes or polymers are used as corrosion protection agent. The components are brought in contact with the corrosion protection agent. The method for increasing corrosion resistance of nitrocarburized and oxidized surfaces of steel components, comprises degassing the surfaces of the components in a vacuum at 25[deg] C and applying a corrosion protection agent (14) on the component surface for sealing.
