A power supply unit (1) for the microprocessor controller, is switched between active and resting states, by a low voltage (S). The low voltage is produced by a further power supply (3). A low voltage switch (5) is used to connect this output (S) to the active/passive input (E) of the power supply unit (1). The voltage (S) is produced by a capacitor power supply unit (3). The low voltage switch is a position of a program selector switch. Independent claims are included for the following: (A) the low voltage supply circuit; (B) and a corresponding appliance.
