The device has a spray head (2) comprising a nozzle (3), which produces a conical spray stream of melted coating material. The spray head is positioned in an inner side of a hollow body (1) in a decentralized manner in such a manner that the distance between the nozzle and a surface of the hollow body is adjusted, where the hollow body is rotatable around a longitudinal axis. A linear drive is provided for adjusting an immersion depth of the spray head into the hollow body.
