The method involves conically milling out a mounting hole (40) for receiving a manhole covering frame (10), and forming a space for the mounting hole. The frame is inserted and aligned centrically to the mounting hole. Reinforcement elements (50) are mounted at or demounted from the manhole covering frame before or after inserting and aligning the frame in the hole. An annular space (28) between the reinforcing elements and the frame is filled with a binding filling material (62), where the reinforcing elements are connected with the frame in sections in a force and/or form-fit manner. An independent claim is also included for a manhole covering frame for use in a method for mounting a manhole covering.
