The device has a metallic component staying in connection with a fluid media and comprising a contact. The contact faces another contact at a given distance. The distance and the type of the contacts are determined such that a potential difference of few hundred volts leads to a voltage loop. One of the contacts is directed pointedly or sharp edged towards the other contact. One of the contacts is arranged on a hand gear (8) of a liquid level sensor (7) that is arranged in a fuel tank (1). The latter contact facing the metallic component is designed as an electrically conductive component.
