The system has a gluing device (7) provided with spray nozzles to spray drops of glue onto fibers (1) exiting from a fiber outlet pipe (5) and to enter a chute (6). A collecting device has a transport device (10) to collect and optionally evacuate the fibers and a suction device (11) to suck the air from the chute and the fibers onto or into the transport device. The nozzles or one of the nozzles are transferred in a gluing operation from standby into operating positions for gluing the fibers and are transferred during interruption of the operation from the operating into standby positions.
