The liquid crystal display useful as television set or for portable purposes such as monitor for note book, comprises a liquid crystal panel (102) with liquid crystal pixels that are formed in segments, a gate driver (104) that drives gate lines, a data driver (106) that drives data lines as a response to a pixel data stream, a time control (108) that regulates the gate driver and the data driver, and a segment in the form of a single chip, which is connected to an external input power source for generating driver voltages and delivers voltages. The segment for generating the driver voltage also consists of a segment for generating gamma voltages. The gamma voltages are produced by splitting the difference voltage from the first and second supply voltages into two units and are applied to the data driver. The segment for generating high gate voltages produces the high gate voltage by means of a positive multiplication of the voltage in association with a clock from the time control mechanism. The segment for generating lower gate voltages produces the lower gate voltage by a negative multiplication of the voltage in association with a clock from the time control mechanism. The segment for generating general voltages consists of a voltage divider that splits a difference voltage between the first and second supply voltages, and a voltage buffer for buffering the divided voltage and delivery of the buffered voltage as a general voltage.
