The method involves guiding a component i.e. airbag sensor (1), in a hole, and attaching the component to a preset position of a wall (2) such that a seal (3) of the component is in contact to a side (13) of the wall. The component is attached to the wall by rotation of the component such that a snap-fit (6) of the component snaps another side of the wall. A seal of the component is pressed with a sufficiently high contact pressure over the whole extent of the hole for sealing the hole at the wall, where the wall consists of metal or plastic.
