The charger device (1) has a housing (2) with a turbine wheel chamber (3) having a turbine wheel (4) that is rotatably mounted. A ring shaped inlet channel (6) in the housing runs around the chamber for exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine. The inlet channel communicates with the chamber through a nozzle (8) that is formed as an annular gap. The nozzle is formed such that the gas flowing through the inlet channel drives the turbine wheel. A regulating unit (10) regulates a flow-cross-section of the nozzle and the inlet channel, and forms a wall (11) which covers the radial height of the inlet channel.
