The circuit arrangement has an alternating current main power supply, a contact less alternating current switch (2) e.g. triac thyristor, insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), a load and a control logic (10).The control logic generates the ignition impulse for alternating current switch. The load consists of multiple partial loads (3,4,5,6), where each partial load is connected with a proper alternating current switch and the control logic controls each alternating current switch. An independent claim is also included for a method that involves driving alternating current in operating mode of phase control.
