The binding has a binding plate (2) that extends over an entire length of a cross-country ski shoe (3), where a joint axle (7) is arranged on the plate within a football region. The cross-country ski shoe is fixed in a middle region of a sole and at a heel on the plate. A trapezoidal coupling element (4) of the plate receives counter pieces of another binding plate (6) at the shoe over a locking joint (8). The locking joint is formed to be complimentary to gripping elements of the coupling element of the shoe, where a releasing force of the joint is adjusted by an adjusting screw (10).
