The wheel rim (10) has a ring bed (12), which exhibits a circulating outer surface (14) for retaining a tire. A rim star (26) is fastened to the rim bed using screws (28). The rim star stretches through interior of the rim bed. A fastening unit (30) is provided for fastening at a vehicle axis, and the rim star consists of high-grade steel. The rim star has a thickness of 15 millimeters perpendicularly to its diameter. The wheel bed is manufactured from a single-piece and exhibits two parts (16, 18). Each part exhibits a circulating partial area (20). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a wheel rim.
