The valve (10) has a needle (25) to block and communicate a fluid passage (27) when seated to and lifted from a valve seat (23). A movable core (35) moves axially with the needle. A stationary core (34) forms a magnetic circuit with movable core. The movable core has an annular protrusion at axial end towards an end of stationary core, so that protruding end contacts the stationary core end. The non-contact portion of movable core has an annular protrusion towards an axial end of stationary core. The annular protrusions are coaxially with respect to each other. An independent claim is also included for solenoid device of fuel injection valve.
