The sampler (100) has a needle (140) for extracting and/or dispensing of sample fluid. A camera (150) is provided for providing an image of a sample fluid plate (120). A computer (160) is provided for evaluating the image and for controlling the positioning of the needle such that the needle extracts the sample fluid to a desired position (121) and/or dispenses to the desired position. An aperture mirror is provided for deflecting an optical axis between the sample fluid plate, which is to be imaged, and the objective of the camera.
