The windscreen wiper system (10) comprises a drive motor (16) and transmission mechanisms (12,18,28,30) for converting a movement of the drive motor into the movement of a wiper blade (14). The movement of the drive motor and the transmission mechanisms are controlled such that the wiper blade comes in a stored position (22) above a reversing position (20) of the wiper blade by a switching of the windscreen wiper system in a parking mode. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a windscreen wiper system, particularly for a vehicle.
