The cover has a plastic frame surrounding a cover plate. The plastic frame is formed by foaming or overmolding of the cover plate, where lubricant i.e. PTFE, is provided in a material i.e. polyurethane material, of the plastic frame. A mounting part and/or a retainer for the mounting part are partially embedded in the plastic frame. A reinforcement frame is partially embedded in the plastic frame. A portion of the lubricant in the material of the plastic frame lies between 3 to 12 percentage. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing of cover for an openable vehicle roof.
