The electro optical illuminant (11) has an organic light emitting material between two electrodes. The two electrodes are transparent anode (13) and geometric structure cathode (16). A temperature sensor (19) is arranged on one of the electrodes. The temperature sensor is a line path (20) made from a material, which has a strong temperature-dependent electrical resistance. The oscillating or meandering line path is imprinted or coated with platinum containing material.
