The device has a molding/smoothening tool (4), a fluid injector, and a movable arm (5), where the tool is arranged at a free end (6) of the arm. The tool is adjustable between an operating position for molding and/or smoothening a viscous material-crawler-type undercarriage (3) e.g. PVC-crawler-type undercarriage, and a stowed position in which the tool stays away from the undercarriage. A regeneration unit (8) is configured to regenerate in particular to clean the tool, and the injector is subjected with compressed air. A control unit is provided for automatic control of the device.
