The method involves printing a test chart (4) by a printing machine (1). The printed test chart is scanned by a spectrophotometer (6) for receiving of spectral values which contain information over the quality of the printing parameters. The spectral values received in a data bank (10) are stored in non volatile manner6. The spectral values stored in the data bank are read by a computer unit (11). An independent claim is also included for a device for monitoring of printing parameter of a printing machine.
