The arrangement has an illumination optical path (2), which supplies terahertz-radiation to a terahertz radiation source (1). An object optical path (3) is provided with a catch unit (4). An optical amplifier (5) is provided with an adaptive phase conjugation device (6) subsequent to the catch unit in the object optical path. A measuring device (7) is provided subsequent to the optical amplifier in the object optical path with a terahertz-detector (8). A wave front sensor (9) and a switching unit (10) supply the radiation to the terahertz-detector or the wave front sensor. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting an object with terahertz radiation.
