The inverter has a rectifier (2) for producing a unipolar intermediate circuit voltage from a three-phase main voltage. A intermediate circuit capacitor is connected at the intermediate circuit voltage. A circuit breaker is provided with a final stage, from which an electric motor (M), particularly a three-phase motor is supplied. The intermediate circuit capacitor is a parallel switched auxiliary intermediate circuit, and has a device and an auxiliary capacitor (C2) in series connection. The auxiliary capacitor is a part of a filter arrangement.
