The device has an analog multiplier (30) delivering a power signal corresponding to a power delivery of a solar module (1). The power signal is supplied to a maximum value detection unit (16) that is designed to detect an exceedance of a maximum power delivery and to deliver a control signal depending on the exceedance of the maximum power delivery. A direct current (DC)/DC converter (12) is provided with an input and an output which changes an input voltage in response to the control signal for adjusting an operating point of the solar module. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting an operating point of a solar module.
