The line (1) has a set of machining stations (2a, 2b) arranged one after the other in the direction of machining, and serving for the machining of work pieces (3a, 3c). One of the machining stations is designed as a special machine. A conveying device (4a) is provided between two adjoining machining stations. A conveying device performs conveying movement of the work piece (3a) between the two machining stations independent of conveying movement of the work piece (3c) between the other two machining stations.
