The engine has two rotors supported in a rotor housing (3) such that the rotors have a defined or minimized gap in a region of theoretical pitch point (10). One rotor is subdivided by a partition (13) axially into a rotor seal segment (23) and compression chamber segment (11) until a shaft feedthrough. The partition is firmly connected with the rotor housing and runs perpendicular to a rotor axis. The other rotor is subdivided by the partition axially into the rotor seal segment and expansion chamber segment (12) until thermal scaling of the former rotor.
