The device has a side frame (6) comprising a molded contour (12) including a T-piece (2) at an intended mounted condition in a sectional manner. The contour is adapted to the associated T-piece of a steel panel radiator (8), and is formed in such a manner that a safety clip (1) is inserted between the contour and the T-piece. The clip is fed with adapted molded retaining sections on the T-piece, and is sectionally snapped at associated edges of the contour in such a manner that the side frame is held on the T-piece.
