The drive device has a piston (12) movable in a cylinder (10) in a sliding manner, where the piston is provided with piston surfaces at respective ends. Each piston surface turns towards a respective cylinder chamber, where the cylinder chambers exhibit respective ports (44, 46) for a drive medium under pressure. A gear arrangement converts a translatory movement of the piston into a rotary movement of a drive shaft (24). Two membranes (48, 50) are arranged in the respective cylinder chambers, where the membranes separate the piston from the drive medium.
