The hybrid drive comprises an electrical machine (10) with a drive shaft (12). An internal combustion engine (20) is provided with another drive shaft (22), where both the drive shafts are temporally coupled with one another with a fixed speed ratio. The common position detecting devices (40,50) temporally detect the positions of both the drive shafts. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for detecting the positions of two drive shafts of an electrical machine (2) a method for operating a hybrid engine.
