The control unit (SE) has a shutdown signal for appropriate shutdown actions in order to automatically shut down the vehicle motor when given shutdown request conditions (AA) are met and no given shutdown prevention condition (AV1,AV2,AV3) is met. A shutdown prevention condition is stored by the memory signal (a1,a2,a3) of assigned memory entry and is send to a memory unit, if given conditions are fulfilled.
