Preparing bridged, stereo-rigid dialkoxide, diaryloxide and preferably diphenoxide metallocene compound (I) comprises: reacting a bridged, stereo-rigid metallocene dihalide compound (II) with an alkylating reagent (III); and subsequently reacting the obtained reaction mixture with isolated dialkylmetallocene or with alcohol, aryl alcohol or phenol (IV). Preparing bridged, stereo-rigid dialkoxide-, diaryloxide- and preferably diphenoxide metallocene compound of formula (Q(Cp)(Cp1a)M(OR 3) 2) (I) comprises: reacting a bridged, stereo-rigid metallocene dihalide compound of formula (Q(Cp)(Cp1a)M(X) 2) (II) with an alkylating reagent of formula (R 4-L-(X1) n) (III); and subsequently reacting the obtained reaction mixture with isolated dialkylmetallocene or alcohol, aryl alcohol or a phenol compound of formula (HO-R 3) (IV).
