The facing cutter, especially for the preparation of a femur condyle, with a rotatably driven cutting head, free end face and cutting elements, has cutting edges on the cutting elements, the radially inner ends of which are arranged in groups at different distances from the rotational center of the end face. In the circumferential direction, two shorter cutting edges (2) follow a longer cutting edge (1) in each case. A longer cutting edge may be followed by a shorter cutting edge (3) and an even shorter cutting edge (2) in the rotational direction when cutting.
