The composite material has a load bearing component (201,202) and an adaptive material, which is subject to a structural deformation in an electric field and magnetic field (200) in the free state. The adaptive material is embedded at multiple locations in the load bearing components such that a structure deformation of the adaptive material is counteracted. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electromagnetic compatible screening.
