The lining (32) has an area (38), which is extendable during an accidental force impact of a motor vehicle, and a covering (34) that is movable from a covering position into a protected position, where the lining with the extendable area and the covering is designed as a hollow section (42). The hollow section has a venting hole, over which a gas is discharged, where the covering faces an interior (20) of the motor vehicle and is movable from the covering position into the protected position during the accidental force impact.
