The guide rail (1) is formed by a c-profile or a slotted hollow profile. The hollow profile is mounted at an edge, wall or door with its longitudinal opening or the longitudinal slot opposite to the longitudinal side. The guide rail has a basis (2). The guide rail is mounted at an edge, wall or door with its rear side (2a). A channel head (3) is designed or mounted, particularly at the front side (2b) of the basis. The channel head extends in longitudinal extension of the guide rail. An independent claim is also included for a door closing or a door drive system with a door closer or door drive.
