Liquid detergent comprises 6-(phthalimide)peroxyhexane carboxylic acid; optical brightener; optionally at least a non-ionic, anionic and/or cationic surfactants; optionally at least other usual components e.g. inorganic builder, organic cobuilder, soda, enzyme, perfume, chelating agent, corrosion inhibitor, bleaching agent, graying inhibitor and alkanolamine; and optionally water. Liquid detergent comprises 90-99.9 wt.% of 6-(phthalimide)peroxyhexane carboxylic acid; 0.1-10% of optical brightener, related to 6-(phthalimide)peroxyhexane carboxylic acid; optionally 0.5-40 wt.% of at least a non-ionic, anionic and/or cationic surfactants; optionally 0.1-60 wt.% of at least other usual components such as inorganic builder, organic cobuilder, soda, enzyme, perfume, chelating agent, corrosion inhibitor, bleaching agent, bleach activator, bleach catalyst, color protection additive and dye transfer inhibitor, graying inhibitor, soil-release-polyester, fiber protection additive, silicone, bactericide and preservative, organic solvent, solubility mediator, hydrotrope, thickener or alkanolamine; and optionally water. An independent claim is included for a method for washing textiles with an aqueous washing solution comprising providing liquid detergent on the textiles at 30-100[deg]C for 10-60 minutes.
