The tool has a tool part with a stamp. A recess is provided in another tool part. A plate is arranged between the recess and the stamp. One of the tool parts is moved on the other tool part, such that the stamp plunges into the recess. A holder guided to the former tool part and frames of the stamp. The holder is pressed in the direction of the latter tool part by a pressure transducer. A holder is adjusted relative to the stamp. An independent claim is also included for a method for shaping a plate.
