The device (1) has an electrical heating system (3) and consumers with variable current consumption. A current measuring device (8) is provided for collecting total current consumption of the device. The current measuring device and the electrical consumers are in connection with a controlling and regulating device (2). The regulating device is formed for regulated current feeding of the heating system under consideration of maximum total current consumption as well as current consumption of the electrical consumers. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a temperature controlling device.
