An overhead transport system, especially in a spinning system, has the reels hung under transport tracks and with a transfer module (9) moving on support tracks to transfer sets of reels between a main track (8) and several side tracks (1 to 3). The transfer module has guide flanges (12, 13) which are extended laterally to align guide tracks with the fixed tracks, and with an integral drive system to effect the transfer.
