Agent for the treatment of udder mastitis in mammals and of breast mastitis in humans, comprises an aqueous solution of N-chlorotaurine or its salt. An independent claim is included for the treatment of udder mastitis in mammals and of breast mastitis in humans, comprising instilling the agent with a cannula through the teats of the udder and nipples of the human breast in to the mammary gland.
