The arrangement has two cylinders (3) coupled with a heat pump (1). One of the cylinders or a cylinder head is supported in a heat medium (6) that is heated by the heat pump, and the other cylinder or a cylinder foot is supported in a cooling medium (7) that is cooled by the heat pump. A doubly working piston (5) is supported in each cylinder. A cylinder head-lateral outlet (10) of the former cylinder is flow technically connected with a cylinder head-lateral inlet (11) of the latter cylinder. The cylinders are connected with each other under interconnection of regenerators (9, 12).
