Cylinder inner surface i.e. sliding surface, fine-processing method for borehole in workpiece i.e. engine block, involves adapting processing parameter of plateau honing stage to surface structure of intermediate-honed borehole
The method involves moving a honing tool with an axial speed component and a peripheral speed component in an intermediate honing stage (ZH), where the axial speed component runs in an axial direction (AX) of a borehole. A ratio between the axial speed component and a peripheral direction component is adjusted between specific values. A processing parameter of a plateau honing stage (PH) is adapted to a surface structure of an intermediate-honed borehole such that a plateau-honed inner surface exhibits a specific core rough depth after the plateau honing stage. An independent claim is also included for a workpiece comprising a borehole with a cylinder inner surface.
