A metal strip is laid into a sintering mold. Green cutter moldings made from sintering powder are placed on the upper surface of the strip in the sintering mold. Green cutter moldings are also placed underneath the strip in the mold. The moldings are then sintered, to form cutting segments. The sintering operation bonds the cutting segments and the strip. The sintering powder is a metal powder containing diamond particles. Independent claims are included for the following: (A) a segmented strip (20) for a core drill; (B) and the method of making a core drill.
