Assay method comprises an enzyme reaction in which a body fluid is reacted with an enzyme mixture so that hydrogen peroxide is formed by conversion of an endogenous calibrator, and a immunoassay reaction in the same body fluid in which a labeling enzyme uses part of the hydrogen peroxide for signal generation. This signal is detected and compared with a signal from the hydrogen peroxide formed in the enzyme reaction.
