The procedure for biological treatment of wastewater with low temperature, comprises settling a bio film (18) consisting of sessile micro organisms, flowing unheated, colder mixture containing the waste water and mud to a temperable subsurface of the film, and regulating heat supplied to the subsurface in such a manner that the subsurface is warmed up but not the mixtures, based on the proportions between a total reactor volume and a heated packed bed (2). An independent claim is included for a device for the biological treatment of wastewater with low temperature.
