The device has a playing device (1) for playing an audio file and a time signal producing unit, which has a sensor (8), working in a contact less way for producing a time signal with which the movement of a disk (7) is detected. The produced time signal is proportional to the speed of the rotary movement of the disk, which rests upon a rotary plate of a record player (6). A controller (4) controls the output of the audio file depending on the time signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program for controlling the output of a digital audio file (2) a method for controlling of a digital audio file.
