A molding process simulator has (a) a generator (10) for an analysis model of a molding with an insert (located in a cavity and fixed on a mold), providing node points; (b) a fluid analyzer (30), calculating cavity temperature and pressure distributions based on (a); (c) a calculator (52) for insert deformation, based on (b); (d) an establisher (40) of restrictions for node points on the mold cavity surface; and (e) a cavity analyzer (53), calculating mold fluid displacement based on (b), (c) and (d). Independent claims are included for: (1) a corresponding method for analyzing the deformation of a molding, involving generating the analysis model, analyzing the fluid, calculating the insert deformation, establishing node point restrictions and analyzing the cavity, as above; (2) a corresponding molding process simulating computer program product, comprising a computer-readable medium storing a program for carrying out the stages of the method; and a corresponding input data generator for generating restriction conditions for input into the molding process simulator, comprising an extractor for node points on the mold cavity surface, an establisher of normal directions from the cavity surface at the node points and an establisher of normal direction restrictions such that the node points do not move along the normal directions, but in a tangential direction to the cavity surface.
