The invention relates to a method for the production of metal actuating plates for sanitary flushing cisterns. In accordance with the invention, plate-shaped plates (3) comprising an integral, rearwardly projecting edge collar (6) are milled from metal strip or metal plates, preferably aluminum strip, by means of at least one milling machine as an intermediate product for the actuating plates (1). The plates (3) thus produced are then surface-treated. By means of the method according to the invention, metallic actuation plates for WC and urinal concealed cisterns can be produced inexpensively in a variety of designs, in particular in a flat and angular design and with flat surfaces. The method according to the invention has no restrictions with respect to the shape design. Rather, the edges (8, 9) of the actuator plates with the inventive method can basically be formed arbitrarily sharp. The subject of the patent application is also a metallic actuating plate (1) produced by the method according to the invention for a sanitary concealed cistern, which has an integral, rear-side projecting edge collar (6).
