The hollow body (1) is of polymer material and has at least one hollow chamber (3), which sectionally has areas of foamed polymer material (4). The materials for the walls of the hollow profile (2) are chosen from the group polyvinylchloride, polymethylmetacrylate, polycarbonate, acrylnitril-butadien-styrol, polypropylene, polyethylene, polyamide, polyoxymethylene or polyetherimide. The materials for the foam (4) are selected from the group polyvinylchloride, polyurethane, polystyrol, polypropylene, polyethylene, polyamide, polyoxymethylene or polyetherimide. The materials for the foam and the walls are chemically related. The foam used is shape-stable already shortly after application, it is closed celled or open0celled and continuously arranged. It is applied at least partly in a back-cut of the inner surface of the wall of the hollow chamber (3). It has a density of less than 0.85g/cm3.
