The rail (10) has a base (12) and two side walls (20) that extend from the base, where sections of the base lying behind a locking edge are inclined outward. The locking edges include a large material thickness in a middle of the locking edges. A set of locking windows (14) with respective locking edges resides in the base, where material thickness of the base is increased at the locking edges. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a profiled rail for a height adjustable fitting part of a seat belt system.
